You're not doing it wrong — you're just built differently
Relationship Compatibility Readings & Coaching
Every couple is two people with different wiring — different needs, different instincts for closeness, communication and challenge. Astrology and Human Design read that wiring, and coaching turns it into something you can actually live.
All of it starts with one person. We can only take real responsibility for ourselves — so every relationship begins with understanding how you are built, whether you come alone or with someone. Each consultation begins with a reading, and from there coaching is optional — some people take the reading and run with it, others want help turning it into practice. Your choice, every time.
Your Needs in a Relationship
For one person who wants to understand how they're built to connect. What you need, how you communicate, where your patterns come from, and what you already bring simply by being who you are. Whether you're single and tired of the same story repeating, or in a relationship and want to understand your own side of it first. All the deeper work starts here.
The full picture of two people — whether you're deciding, engaged, moving in, or years in. Not a score: a map of how you're each built, where you meet, where you'll always differ, and what to do with both. What each of you needs, how you each communicate, why some things come easily and others take work, and the deeper pull between you. Read through both your charts together (synastry) and your Human Design. Compatibility done with care, not clichés.
For families of three to five, read as a whole system rather than a set of individuals. How the energy moves between you, where it jams, what each person needs to rest and recharge — and why that's mechanics, not selfishness. What to realistically expect of your time together, so no one is quietly disappointed.
Two people about to bet years on each other — or already in it and grinding where they didn't expect to. Before the equity signs, or when the friction has a pattern. How each of you is built, where you'll naturally divide and where you'll compete, and what each needs to do their best work. The same wiring lens, applied to the relationship your company depends on.
A reading shows you the wiring. Integration is where we work with it — the coaching side of my practice, where insight becomes something you actually live.
Integration Session
A single 50-minute live call. Once you've had a few weeks with your reading, we go through your questions, talk about what's working and what isn't, and decide what to actually do with it. You can book whenever you like; the call itself takes place at least three weeks after your report.
For those who want to go further: ongoing coaching across a series of sessions, working with your themes at the pace real change actually takes. We shape it around what you need — how many sessions, how often, and what we focus on.
A one-of-a-kind compatibility book about your relationship — written from both your charts, about no one but the two of you. Part reading, part workbook you'll actually use: chapters to explore together and exercises to return to for years, so it grows right alongside you.
Each copy is hand-bound here in Cyprus by Marina Yerali, the London-trained master behind Pinna Nobilis Bookworks — Italian paper, silk-thread binding, a linen cover. Something to keep, and the perfect gift for anyone serious about their relationship: a wedding, an anniversary, or a special date to honor your connection.
A calm, unhurried process, with plenty of room for what you learn to really land.
01
We talk first
We start with a real conversation — a call, or voice notes if that's easier. You tell me what's going on and what you're hoping to understand. I don't open your chart yet; I want to hear your story in your own words first.
02
I create your reading
With your birth details — date, exact time and place — I build your reading. You'll receive a print-ready PDF to keep, a voice message walking you through it, and exercises made for your wiring, to take it deeper.
03
You live with it
Take a few weeks with your reading, unhurried. Read it slowly, work through the exercises, and let it settle — insight like this lands best when you give it time and real attention. You'll start to notice the themes turning up in everyday life, and that's where the shift actually happens. Not a one-and-done answer, but something to return to as life moves.
04
We integrate
Optional — and you can book it whenever you like. The call itself happens at least three weeks after you get your report, so you've had time to read it properly and try the exercises first. Then we talk it all through and turn what you've learned into real change.
My approach
How I think about compatibility
I work with astrology, Human Design and the Gene Keys as languages for connection, and for the deeper forces that shape who we are.
If you're single, they help you understand how you're wired: what you need, and the patterns you keep running into. If you're with someone, they show how the two of you work together, where you meet and where you clash.
Either way, they won't predict your future or hand you a compatibility score. But they give you something a prediction never could: words for what you've only felt.
And once you can name what's happening, you can see it clearly, talk about it, and actually do something with it.

Some of what you see is gentle. Maybe what felt like a problem is just a difference in how you're each wired. Nothing broken, no one at fault. And once you can see that, you find your own ways to reach each other.
Some of it is harder. Maybe the relationship has run its course, or was never quite authentic. Maybe you came together out of fear of being alone, or inertia, or because you'd agreed to a life you never really wanted, never having known another kind.
The relationship you end up with may not look like the one you imagined, and that isn't a loss. Fantasies are lovely, but reality, once you let it in, is far more alive than the version you were handed.
There are so many good ways to understand a relationship. Personality frameworks like the Big Five, MBTI and the Enneagram. Attachment styles and love languages. Everything you learn in therapy or counselling.
Core values, communication styles, conflict, trust, commitment, intimacy, money, long-term goals — all of it is real, and all of it matters.
If any of it has helped you, use it. You don't have to choose just one. They're different lenses on the same thing, and no single one has the whole view.
What I found, in my own life, is that astrology, Human Design and the Gene Keys gave me the cleanest mechanics — the clearest picture of how things actually work, and the best place to start.
They're where I turn when a connection needs understanding. Chemistry isn't the question — if the spark is there, it's there, and it doesn't need explaining.
Compatibility is the real work: how two people actually live alongside each other once the spark has done its part. How you communicate. Whether each of you gets to stay authentic.
And most of all, how differently you're each wired — because once you can see that, you meet each other with curiosity instead of assumption.
Living alongside each other can take many shapes, too. Sometimes one home, sometimes two. The point isn't to force a relationship into the expected form. It's to find the one that lets both people actually live.
And none of this needs a second person. On your own, it can show you your needs, where you're most vulnerable, and what tends to get in the way when you get close to someone.
Just hold it loosely. It's not a fixed list of what you require — with different people, different parts of you come to life. The point isn't to decide in advance who fits. It's to stay curious about what each connection brings out in you.
Astrology reads two charts together, comparing how your placements meet. That's synastry.
Human Design shows how two people energetically affect each other.
And the Gene Keys give language to the deeper layer — the shadows and gifts each of us carry, and the core wounding we're each born with. Not a flaw to fix. A setting. It's meant to be there, and it holds your growth and your gifts inside it.
This is a new way to keep discovering yourself and the people you love, whatever shape your relationships take.
About
Margo Shevnin
The most important decision of my life, I made against every instinct I'd been trained to trust.
I studied coaching — executive coaching, the goal-setting kind. So I know how much I relied on my mind to reason my way to the right move. But in 2020 I found Human Design, and it offered a completely different way to decide, not with the mind at all but with the body's own yes and no. So I decided to test it on the biggest choice I could find.

I quit my job in London, gave up my flat, and moved back to Latvia with no plan. Everyone thought I'd lost it. There were months with almost nothing in the bank, and it's where I burned out. But it's also where I met my husband, and where I eventually found work that fit my life at the time.
None of it was comfortable, and that's the part people miss. Following your design doesn't make life easy. It makes it yours. For me it meant real challenge — the kind that pushed me to value myself, to leave what wasn't working, to face things I'd usually go around. As a Generator, it meant following what I actually had energy for, and someone else's design asks something completely different of them. That's the whole point.
It also sent me back to my coaching with new eyes. Coaching is brilliant at helping you reach a goal, as long as the goal is really yours. But it has no way of telling you whether it is. And so often it isn't. We chase what we were handed, not what we're built for. Human Design showed me that first, and astrology and the Gene Keys turned out to be the rest of what was missing.
So this is what I do now. The reading shows you how you're wired. The coaching helps you live from it. One without the other was never enough.
FAQ
Questions people ask
A little more about how I work — and how I think about astrology, Human Design and the Gene Keys.
How does astrology work?
For me, astrology doesn't work by predicting events. It works as a symbolic, metaphoric language: images that, read well, turn out to be strikingly relevant to your actual life. The chart doesn't cause anything; it reflects, the way a good metaphor does, and gives you something to contemplate.
What is a natal chart?
Your natal chart — also called a birth chart — is a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment you were born. From your birth date, time and place, it maps where the sun, moon and planets sat, along with your rising sign and the houses they fall in. In a reading I treat it as a symbolic map of your patterns rather than a prediction — a way to understand yourself and what's happening in your life right now.
What if I don't know my exact birth time?
Reach out anyway — we can usually work it out together. The exact time does matter. In astrology it sets the houses and the finer aspects. In Human Design it determines the variables, which are some of the most revealing parts of a chart. Without it, we lose access to that depth. But an unknown birth time is rarely a dead end. Birth certificates, hospital records and family memory often turn something up, and there are ways to narrow it down from the events of your life. Tell me what you have and we'll take it from there.
What is Human Design?
Human Design was founded in 1987 by Ra Uru Hu, born Alan Robert Krakower. It synthesises astrology, the I Ching, the chakra system, the Kabbalah and a little quantum physics into one map. For me, its purpose is mechanical: it describes how a person actually operates, and how that shifts in the presence of others. It's why we feel so different depending on who we're with — that's pure mechanics, not mood. What I lean on most is the foundation: your strategy, authority and aura type, the practical keys to how you're built to make decisions and meet the world. Then the finer details, like the variables that describe how you take life in. It's a fairly deterministic lens: less about what you should do, more about how you're made. If you'd like to explore the source, it's kept alive at Jovian Archive.
What are the Gene Keys?
The Gene Keys are a contemplative teaching created by Richard Rudd — an evolution of the same 64 symbols found in Human Design and the I Ching. But where Human Design maps mechanics, the Gene Keys ask you to sit with them. Each key moves through three frequencies: a Shadow, a Gift and a higher expression. The heart of it, and the thing I'm most passionate about, is this: every shadow holds a gift inside it. The very pattern that trips you up is the raw material of your gift — not something to fix or escape, but to contemplate until it turns. Of all these systems, the Gene Keys are the most contemplative, and for me that reframe was a complete breakthrough.
Do you work as a Human Design coach?
In a sense. People use that term for helping you live from your strategy, authority and type rather than just knowing them — and that's exactly what my Integration sessions do. But I don't work in a vacuum: the guidance always rests on your chart, your Human Design and your Gene Keys. We work with how you're actually built, instead of chasing goals that were never yours.
Do I need to believe in astrology for this to help?
Not at all. I don't work with astrology as prediction or belief — I work with it as a language. The symbols and themes are there to be tried on, questioned and tested against your own experience, and the exercises stand on their own. Human Design especially asks you to experiment rather than take anything on faith. Plenty of the people I work with arrive curious and a little sceptical. That's a perfectly good place to begin.
What is relationship compatibility, really?
Not "Libra plus Gemini equals a good match," and not a score out of ten. Real compatibility is how two whole people meet — where your needs line up, where they'll always differ, where the friction lives and where the ease does. I read that through both charts so you understand the actual dynamic between you, rather than get a verdict on it. Difference isn't the problem; not having a language for it is.
What if you tell us we're not compatible?
I don't give scores, and I don't hand down verdicts. What a reading can do is show you clearly how you're each built and where the friction really comes from. Often that's the relief people needed: the problem was never a lack of love, just a difference no one had language for. And sometimes it opens a harder, honest conversation. My only agenda is your clarity — what you do with it is yours.
Do both people need to take part?
No. All the deeper work starts with one person, because the only wiring you can truly take responsibility for is your own. Plenty of people come alone — to understand themselves, or to understand a relationship the other person isn't ready to look at. If you do want a full two-person reading, I'll need birth details for both of you, and both of you genuinely willing. But you never have to arrive as a pair.
Can I just get the reading, without the coaching?
Absolutely. Every reading stands on its own — a print-ready PDF and a voice message from me, with exercises to work through in your own time. Some people take it from there and never need anything more. Coaching is there only if you want help turning what you've seen into practice; it's always optional, and always a separate step you choose.
How is this different from couples therapy or counselling?
It works alongside them, not instead of them. Therapy and counselling are their own disciplines, and I'd never tell anyone to skip them — in fact you're welcome to take your report to your therapist and explore it there. What I offer is a different lens: astrology and Human Design as a language for how each of you is built. Some people use it on its own; many use it beside other good work. I'm not a therapist, and I don't pretend to be — I read charts and help you put what they show to work. I'm clear about that line.
I've done MBTI, the Enneagram, attachment styles — how is this different?
Those are all real, useful lenses, and if they've helped your relationships, wonderful — keep using them. They tend to describe what you're like from the outside. What I found is that astrology and Human Design gave me the cleanest sense of how things actually move between two people — the mechanics underneath the pattern. It's not better or truer; it's another lens, and often a clarifying one. You can hold several at once.
Can you read a business or co-founder relationship?
Yes. A co-founder relationship is one of the highest-stakes partnerships there is, and it runs on the same wiring as any other. I read how each of you is built, where you'll naturally divide the work, and where you'll compete for the same ground. Then what each of you needs to do your best work — whether you're deciding to commit or already in it and grinding. My background is years inside large international organisations, so the business context isn't foreign to me.
Is the reading a live session, or something you send me?
The reading is delivered to you: a print-ready PDF and a voice message from me, with exercises to sit with. It's made to be lived with and returned to, not rushed through in a single call. The live conversation is the optional Integration Session, which you can book three weeks after you receive your report.
How do I pay?
Once we've agreed on the right consultation, I'll send you everything you need. You can pay by Revolut or by bank transfer — in euros, pounds, dollars, or any other currency Revolut supports.
